Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide immediate and expert medical care to patients presenting with emergency conditions, including trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, respiratory distress, poisoning, and other acute illnesses.
- Perform rapid assessment, stabilization, and management of critically ill or injured patients according to established emergency protocols (ACLS, ATLS, BLS).
- Coordinate with various departments including ICU, surgery, cardiology, radiology, and diagnostics for timely patient management and transfers.
- Guide junior residents, medical officers, and nursing staff in emergency clinical procedures and patient care.
- Ensure timely documentation of medical records, treatment notes, and medico-legal cases as per hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient flow and reduce wait times while maintaining quality of care in the emergency department.
- Participate in code blue responses and mass casualty drills within the hospital premises.
- Engage in CME programs, clinical audits, morbidity & mortality meetings, and departmental quality initiatives.
- Maintain adherence to infection control, patient safety, and ethical standards in all aspects of emergency care.
Desired Candidate Profile
MBBS with MD / DNB in Emergency Medicine / Internal Medicine / Anaesthesia or Fellowship in Emergency Medicine (FEM).2 to 5 years of clinical experience in a busy emergency or trauma care unit.Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and ATLS (preferred).Proficient in handling high-pressure situations with sound clinical judgment.Strong communication skills and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team during emergencies.Skills Required
