Job descriptionSupervise laboratory operations in the blood bank, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., AABB, FDA). Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control measures. Lead the development and validation of new laboratory procedures and technologies. Educate medical staff and trainees on transfusion medicine principles and practices. Conduct training sessions for laboratory personnel on technical skills and safety protocols. Present at local, regional, and national conferences and workshops. Collaborate with other medical specialists to develop patient management plans. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and committees related to transfusion medicine. Lead initiatives aimed at improving blood utilization and patient safety. Engage in clinical and laboratory research projects, contributing to advancements in transfusion medicine. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific meetings. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in transfusion medicine. Assist in the budgeting and strategic planning for the blood bank.
