Key Responsibilities :
1. Clinical Duties
- Examine, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
- Handle common orthopedic conditions such as fractures, dislocations, arthritis, and infections.
- Manage post-operative patients and conduct follow-up rounds.
2. Emergency & Trauma Care
Assess and manage trauma cases including polytrauma, fractures, and soft tissue injuries.Perform emergency procedures like splinting, joint reductions, and wound debridement.3. Surgical Assistance
Assist senior consultants in elective and emergency orthopedic surgeries including :Fracture fixations (ORIF), arthroplasties (hip / knee replacements), arthroscopies, spine surgeries.Perform minor orthopedic procedures independently under supervision.4. Academic & Teaching (if applicable)
Participate in case discussions, ward rounds, journal clubs, and departmental CME sessions.Mentor interns and undergraduate students during their orthopedic rotations.Maintain clinical logs, case records, and surgical notes for academic assessment.5. Documentation & Protocols
Maintain accurate and timely patient records, consent forms, and discharge summaries.Follow hospital protocols for infection control, surgical safety, and patient confidentiality.Participate in clinical audits, mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.Qualifications & Experience :
Required Qualification :MS / DNB in Orthopedics from a recognized medical institutionRegistration :Must be registered with NMC / State Medical CouncilExperience :0–3 years post-PG experience (as per NMC norms for Senior Residency)Skills & Competencies :
Sound knowledge of orthopedic conditions and trauma protocolsProficiency in reading X-rays, MRI, CT scans, and planning fracture managementBasic surgical skills and knowledge of operative instruments and implantsGood communication and teamwork with patients, peers, and allied departmentsWillingness to work in shifts, emergencies, and high-pressure environmentsSkills Required
