Role Description :
The Technical Operations Manager will work closely with other leaders, stakeholders, and Fintech teams to enable smooth operations of the various technologies and applications, ensuring stable and scalable application performance for all financial systems products and applications.
This is an engineering role at the intersection of business and technology; requiring knowledge of building highly scalable and resilient services as well as the strong ability to connect engineering with business concerns.
What You'll Be Doing :
People Leadership :
- Day-to-day interaction with different teams and external development teams.
- Quality and expectation management.
- Manage / Govern vendor teams in order to accomplish operational deliverables.
- Lead by example by taking ownership, being proactive, and collaborating.
- Foster a great culture that innovates, works together as a team, partners with other Booking.com teams and roles, and celebrates unified success.
Technology, Craft & Delivery :
Operations planning and delivery, technical quality, and use of best practices along with vendor teams and internal SMEs / POCs.Contribute to the ongoing SAP S4 / HANA transformation project with best practices and improvements and integrations with third-party systems (Upstream / Downstream).Minimum 5 years experience with SAP, with focus on Financial modules (FICO / FICA knowledge is a plus).Embed agile ways of working and company values within the team.Ability to get into the technical detail (where required) to coach, support, and mentor the team.Drive a culture of ownership and technical excellence, including reactive work such as incident escalations and change requests.Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies to be able to share learnings and apply these to a variety of projects when needed.Operational Strategy & Execution :
Define, shape, and deliver the Operations roadmap.Build processes and operational plans.Negotiate on the importance of own product roadmap features supporting operability.Collaborate with vendor teams, technical leads, architects, product managers, and key individuals.What You'll Bring :
Strong technical management skills and experience, managing deliveries via vendors.Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management experience, good commercial awareness, and technical vision.Experience with SAP technologies design, development, architecture, and business requirements gathering experience. Preferably on the Finance (FICO / FICA / BRIM).Technical expert in the SAP S4 / HANA modules and its integration with non-SAP applications using the latest technologies.Proficiency in agile, dev-ops methodology, release management practices, and tools in a complex SAP landscape.Interest in the latest technology trends and openness to innovations coming at any level of the team.Experience in working on products with a large customer base and company-wide impact.Past experience with SAP finance and working in a regulated environment is a plus.Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.In Return, We'll Provide :
