Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Marketplace Category Manager to lead marketplace performance, manage strategic partnerships, and guide a cross-functional execution team for a portfolio of brands. You will be responsible for driving online sales, optimizing platform visibility, andensuring smooth marketplace operations across platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, and others. This is a managerial role requiring prior experience in team leadership, client coordination, and digital execution strategy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own marketplace strategy & P&L for assigned categories / brands—driving revenue, profitability, and long-term growth across leading eCommerce platforms.
- Build strategic partnerships with marketplace category leaders to secure visibility, drive high-impact promotions, and accelerate onboarding of new initiatives.
- Lead and mentor teams of marketplace managers, executives, and analysts—ensuring best practices, automation adoption, and on-time execution at scale.
- Act as senior brand liaison, aligning marketplace initiatives with brand goals and ensuring seamless campaign planning and execution.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing governance on catalog hygiene, pricing parity, content optimization, and efficiency improvements.
- Champion innovation & analytics, leveraging AI / automation and conducting deep performance reviews, benchmarking, and forecasting to unlock growth opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally & support business development, working with internal leadership teams while providing category insights and onboarding strategies for new clients.
Skills & Experience Required
7+ years of experience in marketplace / category management or eCommerce operations, preferably in Fashion, Lifestyle, FMCG, or Beauty.Proven team management experience with the ability to lead, train, and motivate.Proficiency in tools like Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, Nykaa Partner Panel, etc.Strong analytical thinking with hands-on expertise in Excel, dashboards, and reporting tools.Familiarity with AI-driven tools for content, pricing, and listing enhancements is a strong advantage.Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and execution ownership.GCC experience (e.g., Noon, Amazon UAE, local commerce patterns) is a plus, not a must-have.
