Job description

Farmers for Forests (F4F) is hiring a People & Culture Manager. We are looking for someone who can help shape the future of our growing organization by strengthening how we support our people. This role sits at the intersection of people operations, internal systems, and organizational culture. You'll help implement key people processes—like onboarding, internal communication, and rollout of our HRMS—while ensuring that every team member, especially those on the ground, feels informed, valued, and connected. Position :

As People & Culture Manager, you will play a critical role in strengthening our people systems and culture. You will support end-to-end HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, employee experience, and implementation of digital tools that enable a strong organizational foundation. This role offers an opportunity to build systems from the ground up and directly contribute to a mission-driven team working across urban and rural landscapes. Key

Responsibilities :

1. Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process including posting JDs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and managing communication.
  • Design and execute a consistent and welcoming onboarding process, especially for field-based staff to ensure they feel equipped and included from Day 1.
  • Ensure timely induction of new employees and orientation into the organization's culture, values, and systems.

2. HR Operations and Systems

  • Maintain and update employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with payroll processing, attendance and leave tracking, and compliance with PF, ESI, and other statutory requirements.
  • Lead the setup and implementation of an HRMS (Human Resource Management System) including configuration, testing, and rollout.
  • Support employee migration onto the HRMS and provide training / guidance to ensure smooth adoption across all teams.
  • Ensure all employees—especially field staff—have digital or physical access to key policies, organizational information, SOPs, and resources.
  • 3. Policy Implementation & Compliance

  • Assist in communicating HR policies and updating documentation.
  • Ensure policies are accessible and implemented consistently across teams.
  • Maintain compliance records and support audits as required.
  • 4. Performance Management

  • Support the planning and coordination of the performance review process, including feedback collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Track key HR metrics aligned with organizational goals and share insights with leadership.
  • 5. Employee Engagement & Culture Building

  • Plan and coordinate team-building activities, training, and internal events.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, supporting a culture of care and responsiveness.
  • 6. Administrative and Documentation Support

  • Draft and issue employment-related letters (offers, confirmations, etc.).
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, appraisals, and communications.
  • Ensure all HR-related information and templates are systematically stored and accessible
  • We're Looking for Someone Who :

  • Has 3–7 years of experience in HR, operations, or administration (experience in nonprofits or field-based work is a plus).
  • Has strong organizational and project management skills with an eye for detail.
  • Is proactive, dependable, and can manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Is tech-savvy and familiar with tools like Google Workspace, MS Office, and preferably HR software / HRMS platforms.
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work across teams and geographies.
  • Is aligned with the values of Farmers for Forests and is excited about building people systems that are inclusive, humane, and effective.
  • Start Date : Immediate

    Application considered on a rolling basis until 15th October, 2025

    Salary : The salary band for this position starts at 6,00,000 CTC. Actual salary will be decided mutually on the basis of experience, skill and fit of the candidate with our team and culture.
