Presales Consultant

Job Objective :

To support the sales team in technical pre-sales engagements by understanding customer requirements, delivering product demos, conducting Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and positioning IntelliDB as the preferred enterprise PostgreSQL platform.

Key Responsibilities :

Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and craft tailored database solution proposals.

Conduct deep-dive technical presentations, product demonstrations, and workshops to prospective clients.

Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) deployments – from scoping, setup, tuning, to successful demonstration of IntelliDB capabilities.

Articulate the technical differentiators of IntelliDB vs PostgreSQL Community, EDB, Oracle, and other alternatives.

Assist in preparing RFP / RFI responses, solution architectures, and BoM estimates.

Provide customer feedback to product and engineering teams for continuous improvement.

Stay updated on industry trends, open-source tech, and competitive landscape.

Work closely with channel and SI partners to support joint technical engagements.

Required Skills & Experience :

3–5 years of relevant experience in technical pre-sales, solution consulting, or database administration.

Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and security features.

Exposure to Oracle, MySQL, EDB, or MongoDB will be an added advantage.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and database migration tools is desirable.

Ability to handle client-facing presentations and engage in technical discussions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.

PostgreSQL certification or relevant cloud / DB certifications (optional but preferred).

Required Skills :

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge of backup / recovery, HA / DR, checksum validation
• PostgreSQL tools : pgBackRest, pg_basebackup, Patroni, etc.
• OS : Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL), Windows Server
• Ticketing systems : Jira, Freshdesk, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting and English communication skills

Educational Qualification :

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science / IT (B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc.)
