Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Collection Team Leader to lead and optimize our debt recovery operations in West Bengal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a high-performing collections team, driving efficiency through data-backed strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while maintaining exceptional customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the end-to-end collections process, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding amounts while upholding company ethics and compliance standards.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve collection efficiency and reduce delinquency rates.
- Monitor performance metrics (recovery rates, DPD buckets, resolution timelines) and generate actionable insights for process improvement.
- Mentor, coach, and motivate team members to achieve individual and team collection targets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with credit, risk, and operations teams to optimize workflows and customer resolution journeys.
- Handle escalations with professionalism and maintain a customer-first approach in all interactions.
- Ensure strict adherence to RBI and company compliance standards in all recovery activities.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team capabilities in negotiation, communication, and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).5- 8 years of experience in debt collection, recovery management, or financial operations, with at least 2 years in a team leadership role.Strong understanding of fintech operations, lending cycles, and credit risk management.Proven ability to drive recovery KPIs, manage team performance, and handle high-volume portfolios.Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills with a focus on results and compliance.Proficiency with CRM systems, MIS tools, and collection dashboards.Fluency in English, Hindi, and local languages will be an added advantage.(ref : iimjobs.com)
