Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Area Manager - Sales Network based in Chennai. The Area Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding the sales network in the designated area.
Target Setting & Achievement :
- Set monthly / weekly / quarterly sales targets for the area under your charge.
- Ensure those targets are met or exceeded via proper planning and execution.
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage a team of field sales executives / officers (often called SAs / DSMs / RSMs etc.)
- Hire, train, coach, mentor the team — improving sales skills, product knowledge, customer handling, etc.
Sales Strategy & Execution :
Develop sales plans : which territories / POS (Points of Sale) to focus on, which products to push more, which customers to approach, etc.Visit / monitor POS and stores where Home Credit has tie‑ups; ensure sales activation, presence, product display, etc.Coordinate with marketing / product teams for promotions, POS materials, sales collateral.Share regular updates with senior management (Regional / Zonal Heads).Market Expansion & Customer Relations :
Build relationships with store partners / merchants where financing is offered.Address issues / complaints arising at POS or from customers.Identify new POS locations; evaluate potential areas for expansion.Work to onboard new merchants / stores / tie‑ups.Explore new channels to grow customer base.Risk & Portfolio Quality :
Follow up on collections where required; work with collections teams to minimize defaults, non‑performing loans.Ensure things like fraud prevention, document verification, audit compliance are properly done.Requirements / Skills & Competencies :
Strong sales experience, preferably in financial services / consumer finance / NBFCs.Experience managing teams, ideally with multiple levels (sales officers, supervisors, etc.).Good understanding of credit / risk processes, documentation, compliance.Strong analytical skills : ability to work with sales data, spot trends, forecast demand.Excellent communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills.Leadership skills : motivating teams, dealing with field challenges.Ability and willingness to travel (within the area / region) frequently.Reports to a Regional HeadManages a team that could include : District Sales Managers (DSM), Senior Sales Officers, Sales Executives, POS executives.Skills Required
