Roles and Responsibilities

Main Job Purpose :

The CBFM operates within the Home Care Category, working directly with leading Fragrance House evaluators and perfumers, to develop new, and optimise existing themes in line with agenda. The CBFM works as the fragrance lead for UL with a wide range of functions (marketing, R&D, Supply management, consumer insight etc) both regionally and globally.

The CBFM develops internal capability to ensure fragrances fit with new future formats and formulations under development, as well as delivering fragrances that delight regional consumers in a highly competitive market. In line with Clean Future agenda, they are accountable for driving renewable and biodegradable fragrance solutions.

The CBFM is instrumental in identifying and utilising new technologies to improve the delivery and impact of fragrances; seeking opportunities to exploit these in innovation projects and working closely with the Global R&D programme Directors to bring to selected technologies into the market.

The CBFM is responsible for recommending when to use existing fragrance themes and when to brief for a new creation, based on their in-depth market and consumer understanding, and knowledge of the Fragrance industry. The CBFM is responsible for driving excellence in fragrance briefing and fragrance selection.

High-level communication skills

Strategic Fragrance management (understanding of UL and FH processes for fragrance development and portfolio management)

Fragrance Design (consumer understanding, olfactive preferences, competitive fragrance landscape, product design, Brand fragrance strategies)

Fragrance assessment (expert olfactive evaluation of fragrance performance and hedonics in the context of Brand and Category)
