Role Overview
The Head - Learning & Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and driving the organization’s learning strategy to build capabilities, enhance performance, and support business growth. This role will lead all training initiatives, leadership development programs, competency frameworks, and continuous learning practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic L&D Leadership
Develop and execute an organization-wide L&D strategy aligned with business goals.
Identify current and future capability needs across functions and create structured development plans.
Implement frameworks for leadership development, talent pipeline building, and succession planning.
Training Planning & Execution
Design and deliver training programs for teachers, academic staff, and non-academic teams (as relevant).
Oversee content creation, curriculum design, training modules, and facilitation plans.
Ensure quality, relevance, and effectiveness of training through continuous review.
Performance & Capability Development
Establish competency models for various roles and ensure structured learning paths.
Drive initiatives focused on behavioral, technical, and functional skill enhancement.
Collaborate with business heads to identify performance gaps and training needs.
Team & Vendor Management
Lead and mentor the L&D team, ensuring strong delivery and execution.
Manage external training partners, content providers, and assessment agencies.
Negotiate contracts, monitor delivery, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Assessment & Impact Measurement
Implement assessment tools, post-training evaluations, and ROI measurement methods.
Track training effectiveness and publish regular L&D dashboards.
Use data insights to optimize learning programs.
Digital Learning Initiatives
Introduce and manage digital learning platforms, LMS systems, and e-learning modules.
Promote a culture of self-learning and innovation through technology-enabled solutions.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of learning methodologies, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to create long-term learning strategies and deliver sustainable results.
Data-driven approach to evaluating training effectiveness.
Leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and cross-functional coordination.
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in HR, Psychology, Education, or related fields (preferred).
8 - 15 years of experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 - 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in education / EdTech / schools environment is an added advantage (customize as needed).
