Assistant Payroll Manager

Role Purpose :

T he Assistant Manager – Payroll will be responsible for end-to-end payroll management for India, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, statutory compliance with Indian labor and tax regulations, and payroll-related reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail, thorough knowledge of Indian statutory laws, and effective coordination with multiple stakeholders to maintain payroll accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage monthly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Validate and reconcile inputs such as attendance, leave records, new joiners, exits, salary revisions, and variable pay.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity and other applicable labor laws).
• Handle employee queries related to salary, taxation, and payroll policies.
• Prepare payroll MIS, reports, and analytics for management review.
• Stay updated on changes in labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Support process automation, audits, and continuous improvement in payroll systems.
