Experience : Minimum 2 years of teaching Design & Technology / Engineering / Applied Design at the high school level, or equivalent design / industry experience. Candidates with 2+ years in the design or art field, with exposure to design-specific courses, are also welcome.
Why This Role is Exciting
D&T in the senior school is where creativity meets engineering—where ideas evolve into real-world solutions. As a D&T Educator, you’ll mentor learners through advanced design thinking, research, prototyping, and evaluation. Students will work with diverse materials, tools, and digital technologies as they move from concept to refined prototypes.
You’ll foster technical skill, independence, and creativity, ensuring a safe, inspiring, and well-organised workspace. From human-centred design challenges to CAD modelling, fabrication, and testing, you’ll guide young designers through an authentic design-engineering journey that prepares them for college, careers, and beyond.
What You’ll Do
- Teach and mentor senior school learners through a project-based D&T curriculum grounded in research, ideation, modelling, prototyping, and evaluation.
- Guide students through design-thinking workflows—writing design briefs, analysing user needs, generating ideas, and iterating based on feedback.
- Deliver engaging lessons across key D&T domains :
Technical drawing and modelling
CAD (2D / 3D)
Engineering basics (mechanical, structural, materials)
Prototyping and fabrication
Evaluation, documentation, and portfolio building
