This job role will require the incumbent to manage the Litigations for a specific region in the company by leading and managing all litigation-related matters, including disputes, regulatory investigations, and legal proceedings.
Role & responsibilities
- Defend, manage and track cases filed against SMICC and its group companies.
- To empanel efficient and effective advocates for defending cases on behalf of SMICC and its group companies
- File police complaints and take out appropriate proceedings, file reply, rejoinder in court.
- Manage cost of litigations and proceedings.
- Create & implement an analytics framework to enhance ability to mitigate and manage litigations.
- Take Effective defense in claims against SMICC, filed by SMICC & leading the evidence.
- Clarifying customer queries raised and try to settle the issue out of court by explaining him the consequences of default / legal action taken by him and third party as the case may be.
- Provide support on any action or issued faced by branch officials with police, regulatory or statutory authorities
- Providing support to Non-collection litigation related issues
- Build strong relationship with regulatory, statutory, police, enforcement agencies & vendors
- Build capability at branch level to deal with Non - Collection related litigations
- Monitor the billing; bills generated across the location should be raised on monthly basis & no claim should stand pending for the services provided by vendors, lawyers.
- Ensure adherence to culture with focus on integrity, discipline, teamwork (no silos) & care
- Ensure strong corporate governance, regulatory compliance & adherence to management model
Preferred candidate profile
Minimum- 5-7+ years in Legal Operations / Litigations
Relevant - 5 years in BFSI, NBFC preferred
