Description : About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and lead the customization of ServiceNow ITSM applications and workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ServiceNow platform development, system administration, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver scalable IT service management solutions aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and lead customization efforts for ServiceNow ITSM applications, including modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB, and Knowledge Management.
- Develop client scripts, UI policies, business rules, and integrations leveraging REST and SOAP APIs to enhance platform capabilities.
- Configure and maintain Service Catalog items, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), notifications, reports, and dashboards.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Perform system administration activities such as platform upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning to ensure platform stability and optimal performance.
- Ensure that all solutions comply with ServiceNow best practices, security standards, and ITIL frameworks.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshoot production issues, and provide ongoing enhancements and maintenance for the ServiceNow platform.
- Document technical designs, configurations, workflows, and customizations to facilitate future reference and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform development and administration.Strong knowledge of ITSM processes and ITIL best practices.Proficient in scripting languages used within ServiceNow such as JavaScript, and experience with REST / SOAP API integrations.Proven ability to lead technical design and development efforts.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience with platform upgrades, performance tuning, and system troubleshooting.Preferred Skills :
ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer) are a plus.Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.Knowledge of ITOM and ITBM modules within ServiceNow.(ref : hirist.tech)
