Inviting applications for the role of Senior Manager- Reinsurance Operations (Assumed & Ceded)
Responsibilities :
Technical Accounting & Processing Review end-to-end processing of technical statements of account (SoA) for premiums claims and risk transactions across all reinsurance businesses
Contract Setup & Interpretation Review reinsurance contracts wordings and slips to accurately set up treaty and facultative agreements in operational systems
Financial Booking & Reconciliation Review financial transactions related to premiums claims recoveries and brokerage in accordance with contract terms and accounting policies
Reinsurance Calculations Review complex calculations including reinstatement premiums profit commissions sliding scale adjustments and no-claims bonuses
Cash & Receivables Management Provide oversight to unallocated cash and aged receivable clearance ensuring timely identification matching and resolution of outstanding items
Stakeholder & Broker Engagement Liaise with brokers reinsurers and internal finance / underwriting teams to resolve data discrepancies and maintain accurate records
Reporting & Controls Support management and regulatory reporting needs maintain audit trails and ensure compliance with internal controls and reinsurance governance standards
Continuous Improvement & Controls Strengthen process controls identify automation opportunities and drive consistency and efficiency across Reinsurance operations
Governance & Reporting Lead structured governance through regular reviews dashboards and performance metrics to ensure transparency and control
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution Provide analytical insight investigate root causes of accounting discrepancies and implement sustainable corrective actions
Stakeholder & Client Management Act as the primary liaison for clients and internal finance leadership managing expectations resolving escalations and driving continuous partnership
Team Leadership & Capability Building Manage and mentor the Reinsurance team fostering a culture of ownership accuracy and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate / Postgraduate in any stream
Relevant years of experience in managing Reinsurance Operations processes
Proven experience within Re-Insurance domain preferably Assumed business
Experience in working with SICS system would be added advantage
Preferred Skill Set :
Thorough knowledge of Insurance / Reinsurance business
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Computer literacy MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
Self-starter with ability to work under own initiative
Strong time management skills
Integrity with an ability to handle confidential information
