The company provides both matchmaking and wedding related services and is also complemented by 100+ company-owned retail outlets. Its flagship matchmaking services are Bharat Matrimony, Elite Matrimony and Community Matrimony.

Jodii, a game changing vernacular matrimony service for common people was launched in 2022. With Jodii, Matrimony.com serves all facets of people on the economic spectrum – ranging from the HNI to the commoner.

With a strong leadership in matchmaking, the company has fast expanded into the $55 billion wedding services Industry; Wedding Bazaar – the Largest Wedding Services Provider and Mandap.com – the Largest Online Wedding Venues Platform.

Matrimony has also forayed into international markets with its UAE operations completing over 4 years and Bangladesh operations commencing in year 2021. The goal is to build a billion-dollar revenue company and a long-lasting institution with a legacy for the generations to come.

Role Overview

We are looking for a visionary business leader to define and drive the future of our marketplace. This role goes beyond scaling numbers—it is about shaping a high-impact platform that touches millions of lives across the country. The Business Head will craft and execute the long-term vision, drive supply and demand at scale, strengthen operations, influence product evolution, and deliver breakthrough growth with a profitable business model.

The ideal leader will thrive in an ambiguous and dynamic environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution, and building businesses that set new benchmarks in customer experience, scale, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Scale Up

  • Design and execute a robust strategy to rapidly expand and deepen supply across India.
  • Build scalable processes to ensure supply quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Partner with supply ecosystems to co-create growth opportunities and execute them at scale.

Demand Acceleration

  • Lead innovative demand generation strategies to fuel adoption and engagement.
  • Integrate the marketplace with the organization’s broader portfolio, unlocking cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Leverage partnerships and data-driven insights to accelerate demand growth.
  • Operations

  • Architect and scale operations to ensure speed, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Continuously optimize processes to enable growth while maintaining cost discipline.
  • Product & Innovation

  • Collaborate closely with Product teams to co-own the marketplace vision and roadmap.
  • Drive innovations that enhance product-market fit, powered by customer insights and market trends.
  • Customer Experience & Insights

  • Be the champion of customer experience—designing and delivering seamless, differentiated experiences.
  • Build a strong customer insights engine and use it to continuously innovate across supply, demand, and operations.
  • People Leadership

  • Inspire, coach, and lead large national teams across supply, operations, and growth functions.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, speed, and innovation.
  • Build leadership depth and create a talent engine that supports scale.
  • Candidate Specifications

  • 20+ years of experience building and scaling businesses across 0-1, 1-10, and 10-100 stages.
  • Proven success in leading national-scale businesses with large sales teams.
  • Track record of driving growth and profitability in Consumer Internet, telecom, Fintech, FMCG / CPG, Banking / Insurance, or other consumer-tech driven industries.
  • Experience managing businesses of ₹500+ crore scale with measurable outcomes.
  • 12+ years of people leadership, with demonstrated ability to build and inspire high-growth teams.
  • MBA from a top-tier institution preferred
