Global Insurance Risk Manager – HCL (Job Profile)
Leading & administering of overall insurance program globally for HCL Technologies Ltd and it’s 100+ subsidiaries globally,
Working with various insurance brokers and internal HCL teams to gather & review renewal information for corporate insurance arrangements.
Lead the P&C (Property and Casualty) and Liability lines renewals including review of existing insurance program, identify gaps and monitor changes in dynamic reinsurance and insurance market.
Make recommendations for rating, wording, and insurers to Treasury Head.
Carrying out following categories of insurance activities along with insurance team
Pre-Placement activities : Preparing submission for insurance proposal to insurers globally, getting asset valuation done, evaluation and appointment of insurance intermediaries. Coordination with HR, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Accounting, Banking, CISO, GBO and various other team in preparing submission. Preparing and presenting data and PPT’s for road shows for various reinsurance markets including India, Singapore and London. Meeting internal insurance budget targets and successfully concluding placements along with payment of premium to insurers.
Claims Management : Creating and managing all claims tracker including but not limited to employment and commercial litigation / claims & property claims tracker. Coordinating with various team in gathering information required to be presented to Surveyors and Insurers. Review property and liability insurance policy clauses and evaluating coverage for claims negotiations. Coordinating with legal and business team in timely reporting such matters. Conducting quarterly claims review call with insurers.
Manage the liability claims notification process to insurers so that the insurers have sufficient information to investigate claims and monitor the effectiveness of the insurer’s claims handling service.
Policy Administration & other Insurance related activities :
Post placement making sure policies are received in timely manner.
Coordinating with HCL Taxation and Insurance team in concluding GST issues and ensuring refund of GST paid wherever legal allowed to do so after submitting required documents.
Review of policy documents, so that they are in line with coverages offered by insurer during placements. Maintaining and reviewing MIS provided by insurance brokers.
Reviewing and singing all documents such as agreement, proposal form, declarations, discharge voucher etc. Managing all documentation related to insurance program globally.
During Mergers and Acquisitions, make sure seamless transition of insurance program and advising management about run-off cover, W&I Insurance placements.
Review and negotiate contractual insurance obligations placed on the organization.
Identify new insurable risks within the Business and make recommendations for effective management of the risks.
