Role Overview :
We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a VP- Group Business, responsible for managing a high-value institutional client relationship with over - 500 crores+ in business volume annually across life and group insurance product lines for one client. The role is critical in driving internal alignment, executing client strategies, introducing new products, and ensuring a seamless partnership experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Client Relationship Ownership & Growth - Serve as the single point of accountability for managing and growing a large strategic partner account, aligning business objectives with long-term client success.
- Client-Side Navigation Across Lending Ecosystems - Engage with senior stakeholders across NBFCs, MFIs, and partner distribution networks to identify cross-sell opportunities and ensure alignment on underwriting, claims, and persistency metrics.
- Product Innovation & Customization - Lead the development and rollout of tailored insurance solutions (Group Insurance, Credit Life, etc.) in coordination with product, placement, and underwriting teams.
- Cross-Functional Execution & Service Excellence - Collaborate closely with internal teams across product, tech, operations, legal, and finance to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, compliant solutions.
- Portfolio Monitoring & Strategic Growth - Track policy issuance volumes, persistence, renewal trends, and claims experience to identify levers for sustainable growth and improved unit economics across the group portfolio.
- Field Engagement & Client Site Travel - Travel to client branches and regions to support onboarding, monitor field-level activation, and resolve operational bottlenecks related to policy issuance, documentation, and MBA or Engineer or both from a Category A premier institute with 10+ years of relevant experience in the life insurance industry, with direct exposure to group insurance and institutional client management.
- Strong understanding of the financial services ecosystem, especially lending institutions like NBFCs and MFIs.
- Well-travelled across the country with strong professional relationships across regions.
- Proven track record of managing high-value accounts, with strong operational and strategic execution capabilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively across client locations.
- Strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and ability to drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
