A Capital Equipment Sales Manager oversees a sales team selling large, expensive, durable goods that are essential for a business's operations, such as machinery, capital goods manufacturing equipment.
We are seeking a proactive and target-driven Assistant Sales Manager with experience in the Capital Goods / Industrial Equipment sector . The role involves driving sales, developing new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and supporting the sales team to achieve organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing and executing sales strategies for capital goods.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in domestic and international markets.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, and customer engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, OEMs, distributors, and industry partners.
- Understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical / commercial presentations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals effectively.
- Support in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Track competitor activities and provide market intelligence to management.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, service, finance) to ensure seamless execution of customer orders.
- Ensure timely follow-up on payments and customer satisfaction post-sales.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial) or related field; MBA preferred.3–6 years of sales experience in capital goods, industrial machinery, or engineering equipment .Strong understanding of capital goods market dynamics and B2B sales cycles.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings and business development.Skills Required
