Key Responsibilities :
1. Clinical Duties
- Evaluate and manage patients in OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
- Provide care for orthopedic trauma, fractures, dislocations, infections, and degenerative conditions.
- Conduct daily ward rounds and monitor admitted patients.
2. Surgical Assistance
Assist in orthopedic surgeries such as :Fracture fixations (ORIF), joint replacements, arthroscopies, spine surgeries.Perform minor surgical procedures under supervision.3. Emergency & Trauma Management
Manage trauma cases including initial stabilization and definitive orthopedic care.Handle emergencies like compound fractures, dislocations, compartment syndrome, etc.4. Academic & Teaching (if applicable)
Participate in clinical discussions, case presentations, journal clubs, and departmental meetings.Teach and guide undergraduate students and interns (in academic institutions).5. Documentation & Protocol Adherence
Maintain proper patient records, operative notes, discharge summaries, and consent forms.Follow hospital SOPs, infection control guidelines, and surgical safety protocols.Qualifications & Experience :
Educational Requirement :MS / DNB in Orthopaedics from a recognized institutionRegistration :Valid NMC / State Medical Council registrationExperience :0–3 years post-PG experience (as per NMC norms for Senior Residency)Skills & Competencies :
Clinical knowledge in trauma and general orthopaedicsBasic surgical skills and familiarity with orthopedic tools and implantsAbility to handle emergencies independentlyGood communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to work in shifts and under pressureSkills Required
