Role Overview :

The Head of Investor Relations will be instrumental in crafting and maintaining an authentic narrative that reflects the company’s purpose, vision, and strategy while effectively communicating its current performance and future growth plans to the investment and research community. This role will lead the planning, direction, and execution of a robust investor relations strategy, positioning the company favorably with key stakeholders. The individual will spearhead all investor relations activities, such as organizing investor day meetings, marketing events, and analyst engagements, while ensuring executive management is well-prepared for quarterly results, annual meetings, and conferences. A key responsibility will include overseeing the creation of high-quality corporate communications materials such as presentations, reports, press releases, and results collateral in coordination with multiple business units and functional groups.

Beyond investor relations, the role will involve providing critical feedback to management on investor perceptions, aligning corporate strategy with market expectations, and staying abreast of economic, regulatory, and industry trends to keep leadership informed. The individual will benchmark best practices in investor relations and sustainability, helping to integrate global standards and improving organizational performance. Additionally, they will take ownership of the company’s sustainability initiatives, including end-to-end development of the Sustainability Report, monitoring programs, and crafting communication materials for effective stakeholder engagement. This role demands a forward-thinking approach to balancing business goals with sustainability, fostering innovative practices that support the company’s long-term strategic objectives.

Essential Qualifications : CA / CFA / MBA Finance (full time) from a recognized & top B School.

Essential Experience : 15 to 20 years of industrials / manufacturing industry experience

  • Should have led the Investor Relations function. Experience of working in a Private-Equity backed organization is preferrable.
  • Strong prior experience of managing investor relations during critical growth phases, such as significant fundraising, M&A, or pre-IPO planning.
  • Should have flair for executing Technical / behavioural training programs

Key Role Deliverables :

  • Strategic Investor Relations Management
  • Develop and implement a robust investor relations strategy to support the company’s goals, including its long-term vision of potentially becoming a publicly listed entity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the investment community, including private equity stakeholders, institutional investors, and financial analysts.
  • Ensure alignment of investor relations strategies with the company’s vision, mission, and financial objectives.
  • 2. Future IPO Readiness and Public Market Transition

  • Prepare the groundwork for potential IPO readiness, including managing relationships with advisors and understanding listing requirements.
  • When the company decides to go public, lead and manage all investor relations activities related to the IPO process, including roadshows, regulatory compliance, and investor outreach.
  • Develop and manage communication strategies to build confidence among potential investors during the listing process.
  • 3. Stakeholder Communication and Engagement

  • Establish and maintain transparent and consistent communication channels with all stakeholders, including equity partners, analysts, and media.
  • Draft, review, and disseminate investor communication materials, including earnings releases, shareholder letters, presentations, and reports.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, peer performance, and investor sentiment to inform leadership decisions.
  • 4. Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Collaborate with finance and strategy teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and operational performance.
  • Provide strategic insights and feedback from the investor community to senior management to guide decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and disclosure requirements, providing accurate and timely updates to investors.
  • 5. Relationship Building and Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential investors, enhancing the company’s reputation within the financial community.
  • Coordinate investor meetings, roadshows, and conferences to effectively communicate the company’s strategic direction.
  • Proactively manage investor inquiries and foster trust through consistent and clear communication.
  • 6. Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with corporate governance best practices in all investor relations activities.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to SEBI (or relevant regulatory body) guidelines.
  • Manage crisis communication strategies to mitigate risks and maintain investor confidence during challenging situations.
