ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Academics serves as the execution design powerhouse of LEAD’s academic organization translating curriculum frameworks into high-quality academic content and ensuring excellence in delivery of curriculum at scale across all products. This leader will oversee the full spectrum of academic content development (K–12), managing a large team of experts and driving outcomes through operational rigor, people leadership, and continuous improvement.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead & Inspire : Build, lead, and motivate a 100+ member academic team including subject experts, content developers, reviewers, designers, and program managers.
- Execute at Scale : Translate curriculum frameworks into comprehensive, high-quality academic content textbooks, lesson plans, assessments, digital assets, and teacher training materials.
- Ensure Excellence with Discipline : Establish and maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and timeliness through strong project management, process discipline, and quality assurance systems.
- Optimize for Outcomes : Use classroom observations, teacher and school feedback, and student learning data to refine content, ensuring superior in-class implementation and improved student learning outcomes.
- Collaborate Cross-functionally : Work closely with leadership, product, and technology teams to ensure academic programs are effectively integrated and scalable.
- Drive Continuous Improvement : Implement systems and processes to enhance quality, operational efficiency, and innovation within the academic organization.
EXPERIENCE
Experience :
12+ years of experience in K–12 content development and academic operations at scale.Proven track record in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams (50+ members) with full delivery accountability.Strong experience in managing large-scale curriculum development projects and improving academic processes.Educational Background :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputed Indian institution.Technical & Functional Skills :
Deep understanding of K–12 pedagogy and content design across multiple subjects.Strong operational execution discipline and process design capabilities.Excellent people management, mentoring, and communication skills.Proficiency in leveraging technology and AI for academic design and operations.Ability to balance academic depth with practical execution and scalability.Good to Have :
Experience in developing content in STEM subjects.Prior classroom teaching experience in K–12 education.Exposure to content development across print, digital, and assessment formats.
