We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Data Team at Mercer.This role will be based in Mumbai / Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Associate Director – Investments (Investments Performance)
We will count on you to :
- Drive the delivery and operational support for investment performance measurement and reporting initiatives
- Engage closely with key stakeholders across investment performance teams, data analytics, technology, and vendors to support maintenance and sustenance of investment performance support needs
- Develop a thorough understanding of the investment performance platforms, analytics tools, and solutions implemented
- Collaborate with data solutions and performance leadership to define SLAs and support protocols specific to investment performance data and reporting
- Develop detailed understanding of investment performance measurement, attribution, and reporting business processes, data flows, and models implemented by Enterprise Architecture and Investment Performance solution teams, and design support procedures to effectively support post go-live
- Ensure there is detailed support documentation that aligns closely with investment performance business requirements, data mappings, dependencies, data definitions, specifications, and business processes including performance data flows
- Build, manage, lead, and grow a dedicated high-performance investment performance support team
- Develop and implement scalable investment performance support capabilities with a metrics-driven operations model, ensuring adherence to data ownership, quality, accuracy, and timeliness principles
- Manage stakeholder expectations through effective project management and ensure timely delivery of investment performance support solutions
- Support and influence the development of Mercer’s overall investment performance strategy with insights gained from support metrics
What you need to have :
10+ years of experience working directly in the finance industry in an investment performance measurement, reporting, or analytics role, such as at an Investment Manager, Custodian, or a vendor providing services to the buy-sideExtensive experience leading investment performance teams managing core performance measurement domains, including team building, organizational development, process management, vendor management, SLA oversight, and metrics-driven support deliveryProven track record in growing and leading performance measurement and reporting teams, preferably with expertise in performance attribution and analyticsExperience driving adoption of standardized processes, templates, and best practices by investment performance support and requesting teamsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with performance stakeholders at all organizational levelsThought leadership in designing investment performance measurement and reporting capabilities across front-office, middle-office, and back-office workflowsHands-on experience managing data pipelines and analytics for diverse financial market data sets and multiple asset classes relevant to performance measurementFamiliarity with investment performance data governance principles, including metadata management and data quality assurance specific to performance dataSolid conceptual understanding of investment management processes, financial markets, portfolio management, performance reporting, and monitoringDemonstrated knowledge of front, middle, and back-office functions within investment management, wealth management, or asset management industries as they relate to performance measurementExperience integrating disparate investment data ecosystems, data models, and analytics pipelines to support complex performance measurement workflowsProven ability to manage and balance stakeholder expectations in an investment performance contextStrong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel, Vision, PowerPoint, and Word for investment performance analysis and reportingProficiency in SQL, relational database management systems (RDBMS), data modeling, data extraction, and analysis of both structured and unstructured investment performance dataExperience with Asset Management and Fund Operations applications and a deep understanding of their capabilities related to performance measurement and reporting is highly desirableWhat makes you stand out?
