Role Overview
As a Team Lead – Business Development (BD) in the O&M division, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new clients for Suzlon’s O&M services, retaining existing customers, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and service excellence. This role combines market understanding with technical knowledge to offer effective after-sales support and long-term service agreements (LTSA) to wind farm owners.
- Business Development : Identify and pursue new opportunities in the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services segment, including third-party O&M contracts and renewals.
- Client Relationship Management : Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as retail clients, PSUs, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), wind farm owners, utilities, and government agencies.
- Revenue Management : Drive revenue generation and ensure timely revenue collection through effective contract execution and client engagement.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, service offerings, and value-added solutions.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to understand trends and customer needs.
- Coordinate with the technical, legal, and finance teams to structure contracts and proposals.
- Drive negotiations for O&M agreements and long-term service contracts (LTSAs).
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and transition of assets into Suzlon’s O&M ecosystem.
- Achieve assigned business development targets and report performance to leadership.
- Represent Suzlon at renewable energy expos, industry events, and client meetings.
Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy EngineeringMBA in Marketing / Business Development (preferred)15+ years of experience in business development, preferably in renewable energy or power servicesExperience in O&M or asset management business is highly desirableSkills Required
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skillsUnderstanding of wind turbine O&M, service contracts, and energy regulationsExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsProficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and basic knowledge of SAPWillingness to travel extensively to meet clients and visit sitesPreferred Attributes
Proven track record of closing high-value service contractsAbility to work independently and cross-functionally with technical teamsExperience with SCADA-based performance reporting and uptime-based contracts is a plus
