Head of Finance and Accounting

Job Overview :

The Head of Accounts & Finance will lead and oversee the entire accounts and finance function of the Pune unit, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, effective cash flow management, and strategic financial planning. The role requires a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with proven experience in managing end-to-end accounts and finance operations within the manufacturing industry, preferably metals / steel.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Management & Strategy

Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process.

Develop strategies to optimize cost, improve margins, and enhance profitability.

Monitor financial performance against business goals and provide insights for decision-making.

Accounts & Reporting

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee accounting team performance.

Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable financial reporting standards.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings, and other applicable laws.

Liaise with statutory, internal, and tax auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.

Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing and metal sector.

Treasury & Working Capital Management

Manage cash flows, banking operations, and fund utilization efficiently.

Oversee working capital management, credit control, and debtor management.

Build strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors for fund raising and project financing.

Cost Control & MIS

Implement effective cost accounting systems and monitor production-related costs.

Develop and present periodic MIS reports to management for financial performance tracking.

Support business units with financial analysis to aid in pricing, costing, and investment decisions.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor the accounts & finance team, ensuring skill development and high performance.

Establish strong internal controls and processes across the department.

Foster a culture of integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements : Qualification :

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

Experience :

8 - 15 year’s post CA qualification experience in Accounts & Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing (preferably metals / steel sector).

Strong expertise in financial reporting, statutory compliance, cost control, and treasury management.

Proven track record in handling audits, liaising with banks, and managing working capital.

Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
