Responsibilities :
- Leading Infra team primarily comprising of Database Specialists to support the organizations data storage and access needs; identifying projects and sets priorities, ensuring team members provided excellent support and adhered to best practices
- Identifying potential shortcomings within an organizations data infrastructure, including areas where there was potential for data loss or unauthorized access
- Ensuring the swift resolution of database issues, ranging from discovering that data has been lost or corrupted to supporting recovery efforts after server failures
- Rolling-out plans for data backup activities, including determining backup schedules and deciding when to remove obsolete data
- Adhering to laws and guidelines for data retention and management of server space, providing organization with rapid access to business-critical data in event of a crash
- Steering efforts in reporting and documentation related to database activities; monitored daily activity & system logs and worked with database administrators to prepare reports related to issues that arise while managing data
- Supervising technical planning and analysis of critical issues to ensure that these were resolved within SLA; working with Support and Account Managers during critical failures
- Reviewing and improving checklists for activities like upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, backup & recovery
