Software Engineer – Assistant Vice President

Job descriptionExcellent communicator who gets on well with others, building strong professional relationships Able to negotiate and influence at various levels Collaborative by nature, builds partnerships across the firm Creative and innovative, brings different angles to problems and provides new solutions Risk and security focused, putting diligent risk management and security at the core of everything they do Able to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques Overall 8+ years of Proven Expertise in the development process, ideally from working in development teams in a large company Looking for people who have built things from scratch and moved them through to production. Expert Level Python Skills is necessary for this role. (Typically 5+ years) Experience in designing systems from scratch (Be prepared to provide examples and understand the impact of those systems) Knowledge of Microservice Architecture would significantly help you be successful in this role Ability to work tactically in the short-term and strategically for the long-term Understanding of data science / data engineering basics Working proficiency in SQL is a requirement. Knowledge of Graph Databases will help you be successful in this role. Experience with Agile SDLC methods Scrum, Kanban, etc.
Description
- Contributes as part of an expert team of software engineers / data scientists
- Responsible for systems that gather and process data / measures / reports
- Moving repetitive tasks to automation through scripting
- Ensures alignment of measures and metrics
- Drives adoption of measures and metrics by development teams
- Improves data quality across the entire estate
- Evolves measurement through continuous improvement
- Ensures measures are useful to development teams
- Derives measures for senior management consumption from these
- Implements solutions for reporting issues with broad impact
