Experience Required : 15+ years, with at least 8–10 years in corporate strategy and M&A (preferably in manufacturing / automotive / EV sector)
Job Purpose :
To lead the company’s strategic direction and growth agenda through a blend of corporate strategy, business transformation, and inorganic initiatives. The role will drive strategic planning, diversification, operational excellence, and targeted M&A to position the company for long-term competitiveness and global expansion, especially across EV, clean-tech, and next-generation mobility ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Corporate Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop and execute the company’s long-term strategic roadmap in alignment with the Board and CEO.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities, market adjacencies, and diversification themes to accelerate growth.
- Drive the annual business planning process (AOP) and align functional strategies with corporate goals.
- Conduct market, competitor, and customer analyses to guide key business and investment decisions.
2. Business Transformation & Strategic Projects
Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives focused on operational excellence, cost optimization, and digital transformation.Establish governance mechanisms to monitor progress, track KPIs, and ensure accountability.Partner with business units to drive process improvements, organizational restructuring, and performance turnaround programs.3. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Joint Ventures & Partnerships
Lead the full lifecycle of M&A and strategic partnership initiatives — from origination and evaluation to execution and post-merger integration.Identify target companies aligned with the organization’s growth themes (technology, product expansion, geography, or capability enhancement).Oversee deal evaluation, valuation modeling, due diligence, and transaction structuring (JV, acquisition, divestiture, or alliance).Collaborate with finance, legal, and business heads to negotiate key terms and secure board approvals.Drive post-merger integration (PMI) and synergy realization through structured implementation and governance.Build and maintain strong relationships with investment banks, consultants, and industry networks to access deal flow and market intelligence.4. Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy
Track global auto and EV sector trends, M&A activities, regulatory developments, and competitor movements.Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to leadership and the Board.Build internal capability for data-driven decision-making and scenario planning.5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on growth and investment strategy.Present strategic options, financial models, and progress updates to the Board and senior leadership.Lead and mentor a high-performing strategy and M&A team to deliver measurable outcomes across initiatives.Key Qualifications :
MBA / PGDM from a Tier-1 institution; engineering background preferred.15+ years of experience in corporate strategy, business transformation, or M&A within manufacturing / automotive / EV or allied sectors.Strong exposure to deal execution (both domestic and cross-border) and post-merger integration.Proven experience in leading strategic projects and business growth initiatives in a dynamic environment.Key Competencies :
