About the Team & the Position
As part of the Digital division, Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS) , plays a mission-critical role in enabling AEMO to deliver its statutory functions across Australia’s energy markets. EMCDS partners with business units to develop, maintain, and support participant-facing IT systems and internal corporate platforms that underpin the National Electricity Market (NEM), Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), and Gas markets.
The Senior Full Stack Developer will develop and maintain high-performance applications using Node.js and C# within Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Function Apps to support AEMO's Meter Data Management platform.
The incumbent should be hands-on and as a Senior : you will set engineering standards (testing, code coverage, CI / CD), proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities, make sound technical decisions, and collaborate with architects, cloud engineers, and vendor partners to achieve platform outcomes for Meter Data Management.
Position Responsibilities
- Design and implement microservices and APIs using Node.js and C# on AKS and Azure Function Apps.
- Develop and maintain serverless workflows and integrations within Azure.
- Manage Azure DevOps repos, including pull request approvals, peer reviews, and branch strategies.
- Implement automated unit testing frameworks and integrate them into CI / CD pipelines.
- Apply vulnerability and quality checks using JFrog and SonarCloud for application repositories.
- Validate vendor solutions, contribute to technical decisions, and collaborate with architects and cloud engineers.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting with Azure Monitor, Elastic Stack, and Dynatrace, and create dashboards for performance visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, BAU enhancements, and risk mitigation, including security vulnerability reviews.
- Interact with Microsoft and other vendor support services for issue resolution and guidance. Provide technical leadership during incidents, go-live events, and testing cycles, while mentoring junior developers
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience :
Strong experience in application development with Node.js and C#.Hands-on experience with AKS, Azure Functions, and serverless architectures including deploying and managing workloads.Performance tuning and scaling – ability to optimize applications and infrastructure for high availability and scalability.Proficiency in CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Knowledge of application security, governance, and compliance frameworks.Proven ability to optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.Preferred Skillset :
Familiarity with NGINX Ingress Controller – understanding of routing and load balancing in Kubernetes environments.Experience with mTLS (Mutual TLS) – knowledge of secure communication between services.Education / professional Certifications :
Tertiary and / or post graduate qualifications in IT, computing, Computer Science or any appropriate discipline or equivalent experience.Microsoft Certified : Azure Developer Associate or equivalent certifications are desirable.In return some of our benefits to you
