Role Details

Dominican School is looking for a passionate and energetic Physical Education Teacher who thrives on inspiring students to lead active, healthy lifestyles. We’re seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to lead our Physical Education and Sports Program with creativity, leadership, and enthusiasm.

This is a permanent, part-time position (0.5 FTE), commencing at the beginning of the 2026 school year, with the possibility of increasing over time. Whilst this position is for a Physical Education Teacher, the substantive role is classroom teacher.

The successful applicant will :

• Have an understanding of and contribute to the Catholic ethos of Dominican School;
• Have expertise in the teaching of Physical Education using current pedagogical practices;
• Have a commitment to implementing teaching pedagogies and practices which are contemporary, inclusive, innovative and evidence based;
• Use effective assessment strategies to support and celebrate student growth;
• Have highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues, students and parents developing positive and inclusive relationships;
• Organise and manage SAPSASA, SACPSSA, after school sport or other teams and events and supporting student participation;
• Promote student responsibility through PBIS strategies that empower student agency in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment;
• Have the capacity to navigate SEQTA and utilise its recording and communication tool;
• Have a willingness to be involved in the community life of Dominican School.
