Role Overview :
The IT Vendor Management Consultant is a specialized role requiring 3- 7 years of dedicated experience in IT Vendor Management, focusing on optimizing relationships and securing advantageous terms for the company.
This is a Remote position requiring the incumbent to be Local to Pune, India, for a duration of 6+ Months (Contract).
The role is critical for managing the full vendor lifecycle, with core responsibilities centered on establishing master agreements, creating statements of work, and driving vendor consolidation initiatives within a complex IT landscape.
Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced IT Vendor Management Consultant to take ownership of vendor relationships and contractual processes. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands-on experience establishing Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and creating / negotiating Statements of Work (SOWs) for both Software and IT Services. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal finance, legal, and external vendor teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Contract Negotiation and Execution : Experience creating and negotiating SOWs (Statements of Work) is required. Lead the process from initiation through final execution, ensuring clear definition of scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Master Service Agreement (MSA) Establishment : Experience working with vendors to establish MSAs (Master Service Agreements) is required. Coordinate with Legal and Procurement teams to review, negotiate, and finalize complex master contracts that govern the overall relationship framework.
- Vendor Lifecycle Management : Manage the full vendor lifecycle for both internal stakeholders and external vendors / teams, including onboarding, performance monitoring, risk management, and contract renewal / termination.
- Performance and Governance : Implement and oversee vendor governance frameworks to track service delivery, performance against agreed-upon SLAs, and manage service credit recovery where necessary.
- Consolidation Initiatives : Work on vendor consolidation initiatives to rationalize the supplier base, reduce operational complexity, and drive cost efficiencies across the IT function.
- Stakeholder Coordination : Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, Finance, Legal, and external vendor account managers to ensure alignment on contractual terms, budgeting, and delivery expectations.
- Process Improvement : Continuously identify opportunities to standardize vendor management processes, contract templates, and governance procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :
Experience : 3- 7 years of dedicated IT Vendor Management Experience.Contract Expertise : Experience with Software and IT Services vendor management is strongly preferred.Agreement Skills : Experience working with vendors to establish MSAs is required.Negotiation Skills : Experience creating and negotiating SOWs is required.Communication : Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for managing complex, sometimes adversarial, relationships.Autonomy : Must be able to work independently in a remote setup, managing multiple vendor relationships and contracts simultaneously.Preferred Skills :
Industry Domain : Experience working in the manufacturing industry, ideally Automotive Manufacturing is a plus.Strategic Initiatives : Any experience working on vendor consolidation initiatives is a big plus.Experience with Procurement / Contract Management software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa).Certification in ITIL or Procurement / Supply Chain Management.(ref : hirist.tech)
