Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and development of power electronic systems including onboard / offboard chargers, DC-DC converters, and motor inverters for electric 2-wheelers.
- Guide circuit design (analog / digital), PCB layout, thermal management, and component selection.
- Own simulation and modeling of power electronic circuits using tools like PLECS, PSIM, LTspice, etc.
- Drive Model-Based Design (MBD) approach using MATLAB / Simulink for control algorithm development and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Plan and manage multiple development projects from concept to production, ensuring cost, quality, and timeline goals are met.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with embedded software, mechanical, battery, and vehicle integration teams.
- Provide technical mentorship and career development guidance to junior engineers and project leads.
- Ensure robust design through DFMEA, thermal analysis, EMI / EMC considerations, and design validation testing.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, such as SiC / GaN devices, to enhance system performance and efficiency.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, design reuse, and technical excellence.
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Power Electronics Engineering.10 to 15 years of relevant experience in power electronics design within the electric vehicle (2-wheeler / 4-wheeler) or automotive domain.Proven hands-on experience in designing chargers (AC-DC) and motor inverters (DC-AC) for EV applications.Power electronics simulation (PSIM, PLECS, MATLAB, etc.).MBD-based development using MATLAB / Simulink.Control strategy development for motor drives and chargers.Deep understanding of automotive standards, EMI / EMC compliance, and functional safety (ISO 26262 is a plus).Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and guide teams, review designs, and conduct technical deep-dives.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Experience with production-grade EV powertrain systems.Exposure to Inverter, Charger battery management systems (BMS) and vehicle control units (VCU).Familiarity with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and automotive quality systems.Skills Required
