Job Purpose
To lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmaceutical packaging plant, ensuring optimal production efficiency, quality compliance, safety, and cost-effectiveness while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Operations & Production Management
- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily plant operations to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Oversee the manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical packaging materials such as blister packs, bottles, caps, labels, etc.
- Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machinery, materials).
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure products meet quality standards (cGMP, ISO, FDA, etc.) and customer specifications.Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams for audits and process validations.Address non-conformities and lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.3. Maintenance & Equipment Management
Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and utilities.Ensure minimal downtime and smooth functioning of production lines.4. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
Enforce adherence to safety protocols and statutory compliance.Lead EHS audits and implement safety awareness programs.5. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.Monitor inventory levels and control wastage.6. Team Management
Lead, train, and develop plant personnel including supervisors, engineers, and operators.Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.7. Cost Control & Budgeting
Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving strategies.Assist in plant budgeting and CAPEX planning.Key Requirements
Education :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Chemical)Additional certification in Operations Management / Lean / Six Sigma is an advantageExperience :
12–18 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in pharma packaging or a similar regulated industrySkills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging technologies and regulatory normsLeadership and people management skillsAnalytical and problem-solving mindsetExcellent communication and coordination skillsFamiliarity with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle)Preferred Industry Background :
