Reporting To : Head – Sales / CEO
Experience Required : 5–10 years in Solar EPC / Renewable Energy / Industrial Solutions Sales
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager with proven experience in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar sector. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for identifying opportunities, engaging industrial clients, and closing solar EPC projects (both CAPEX & OPEX models). The candidate should have strong connections in industrial clusters and a track record of winning projects with manufacturing and commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and develop C&I solar opportunities in assigned region (industrial belts).
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through direct engagement, consultants, and channel partners.
- Conduct site visits, load assessments, and feasibility discussions with prospects.
Client Engagement & Sales Closure
Present solar EPC / RESCO value propositions to CFOs, plant heads, facility managers, and promoters.Structure techno-commercial proposals in coordination with pre-sales & design team.Negotiate and close orders in line with revenue and margin targets.Industry Networking & Partnerships
Leverage existing relationships in automotive, pharma, textiles, engineering, warehousing, FMCG, food processing, and commercial real estate.Represent the company at trade fairs, industry events, and sustainability forums.Build local consultant and influencer network to drive referrals.Sales Operations & Reporting
Maintain accurate pipeline & customer data on CRM.Provide competitor intelligence and market insights to management.Achieve assigned annual revenue targets (₹15–25 Cr order booking expected per BDM).Candidate Profile
Education : Graduate in Engineering / Science / Commerce; MBA preferred.Experience : 5–10 years in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Solutions Sales.Track Record :
Proven experience in closing MW-scale rooftop / ground-mounted solar projects.Familiarity with CAPEX / OPEX / RESCO models and customer IRR calculations.Existing network in industrial belts (auto, pharma, textile, warehousing, etc.).Skills :
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Commercial acumen, understanding of PPA structures, regulatory framework (net metering, open access).Compensation
