The Senior Accounts Officer – Investment Finance will support the Finance Manager and Senior Investment Accountants in preparing investment accounting reports, financial statements, and audits. This role requires collaboration with auditors, lenders, investors, and internal teams to ensure compliance with IFRS and lender requirements across UK and European property portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting packs, including balance sheet schedules and profit & loss commentary.
- Review and validate workbooks from property accountants, challenge discrepancies, adjust, and post journal entries.
- Conduct monthly consolidations across multi-property portfolios (Student and PRS special purpose vehicles).
- Prepare complete IFRS financial statements, both consolidated and standalone.
- Perform covenant testing for debt, including Loan-to-Value (LTV) and Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR).
Investor & Compliance Reporting
Develop investor reporting tables, charts, and consolidated budget variance analyses.Ensure compliance with lender and investor reporting requirements, including structure agreements.Prepare quarterly VAT returns and annual tax computations for offshore holding entities.Assist in annual budgeting and re-forecasting.Cash & Audit Management
Review bank reconciliations, forecasts, and payment approvals for effective cash management.Provide support for investor and lender reporting deadlines, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Prepare audited and unaudited financial statements and supporting schedules for Student and PRS portfolios.Work on year-end audit reports, submitting testing reports and samples.Manage the transition of completed developments from the development accounting team.Process Improvement & Ad-Hoc Tasks
Calculate investment-level management fees and ensure prompt settlement.Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and compliance.Support the finance team with ad-hoc financial reporting as requiredKey Skills & Competencies
