Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Mobile Test Automation Engineer with at least five years of experience in mobile test automation and debugging. This role is critical for driving quality across mobile applications and involves continuous troubleshooting of daily production issues. The candidate must possess strong coding skills in Java, expertise in Appium / Selenium, and be a proactive, assertive leader capable of working effectively across large, matrix organizations.
Key Responsibilities :
Mobile and API Test Automation :
- Develop, enhance, and maintain robust and scalable Test Automation frameworks and scripts using Java or other relevant programming languages.
- Lead Mobile Automation testing efforts with mandatory hands-on experience using Appium (preferred) and Selenium.
- Execute and optimize tests for both iOS and Android applications, ensuring broad device and OS coverage.
- Drive API Test / Debugging efforts using mandatory tools like Postman, Karate, SOAP UI, or Rest Assured for validating microservices and backend integrations.
Debugging, Troubleshooting, and Production Support :
Possess a solid experience in mobile test automation and debugging, specifically with the skills to methodically identify why issues occur in production environments.Take full ownership of problems and actively lead troubleshooting for daily production issues, debugging both the mobile apps and corresponding APIs effectively using tools like Postman.Proactively acquire knowledge of niche tools like Perfecto and Espresso, building upon a strong foundation in debugging and testing principles.Process, Governance, and Leadership :
Utilize Test Management Tools such as Qtest, Quality Center, or HPALM for test planning, execution tracking, and reporting.Manage and track defects using mandatory Defect Management Tools like JIRA or Rally.Serve as a strong communicator who can effectively coordinate with different stakeholders across large matrix organizations (not a startup environment).Demonstrate the ability to challenge others and deal with difficult situations, countering when necessary to ensure quality standards and problem resolution.Qualifications :
Experience : Mandatory minimum of 5+ years of solid experience in mobile test automation and debugging.Automation Coding (Mandatory) : Hands-on experience and strong coding skills in Java (or other object-oriented languages) for test automation.Mobile Automation (Mandatory) : Hands-on experience in Mobile Automation testing using Appium and Selenium.API Testing (Mandatory) : Hands-on experience in API Test / Debugging tools like Postman, Karate, SOAP UI, or Rest Assured.Work Environment : Proven experience working effectively within larger matrix organizations.Preferred Skills :
Experience with Device Emulation & Simulation platforms like Perfecto or BrowserStack.Experience with native UI Testing Tools such as Espresso (Android) or XCUI (iOS).Certification in testing methodologies (e.g., ISTQB).Experience with CI / CD integration for mobile automation frameworks.(ref : hirist.tech)
