About the Role
As a Territory Business Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, market development, and brand presence within your assigned territory. You will manage distributor networks, develop customer engagement plans, and ensure achievement of sales and ethical objectives aligned with the business strategy. This role requires strong planning, execution, and customer relationship management to ensure the success of the division.
Key Responsibilities
Area Business Planning :
- Develop monthly and quarterly sales and trade activation plans.
- Plan demand generation, fulfillment, and monitor actual sales performance.
- Conduct prescription audits for company and competitor brands.
- Maintain and update customer lists (doctors / chemists) in alignment with therapy / product requirements.
- Identify potential towns and appoint distributors / customers in line with business philosophy.
Business Generation & Development
Achieve sales targets (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, yearly) through ethical promotion of company products.Conduct scientific discussions with doctors and chemists to drive product adoption.Organize CMEs, trade activations, and clinics for brand visibility.Execute merchandising, sampling, and promotional activities as per division strategy.Facilitate new product launches through effective customer targeting, in-clinic / trade promotions, and feedback.Customer Management
Ensure 100% coverage of assigned doctors and chemists.Achieve minimum customer call averages as per division KPIs.Collect market intelligence, manage retailer-level inventory, and ensure alignment with product and marketing strategy.Brand Management
Drive brand visibility at retail outlets in line with promotion strategy.Plan and participate in retail meets, market blitzes, and other brand-building activities.Authority & Decision-Making
Develop and execute customer management plans.Approve expiry product credit notes for distributors under your control.Recommend distributor appointments and credit limits.Plan and manage resource utilization.
Participate in strategy review meetings to ensure business alignment.Desired Skills & Qualifications
Graduate / Postgraduate in Pharmacy / Science / Management (preferred).3-6 years of sales / territory management experience in Pharma / FMCG / Healthcare sector.Strong planning and execution skills with ability to achieve sales targets.Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management.Market knowledge with analytical and problem-solving ability.(ref : iimjobs.com)
