Job Title : Commis Chef

Job Summary :
The Commis Chef is an entry-level role responsible for assisting in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, eager to learn, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under the guidance of senior chefs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the supervision of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in all kitchen areas.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as directed.
- Ensure ingredients are properly measured, prepared, and stored.
- Support senior chefs with daily mise en place (prep work) and kitchen setup.
- Handle basic cooking tasks such as chopping, peeling, grilling, frying, or baking as assigned.
- Ensure all food items are prepared safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues, shortages, or food quality concerns to the Sous Chef.
- Assist in receiving and stocking deliveries while maintaining proper rotation (FIFO).
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward team members and contribute to a cooperative working environment.
Requirements :
Diploma / Degree in Culinary Arts or relevant certification preferred.0–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (internship experience acceptable).Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow instructions.Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.Preferred Attributes :
