Frontier Alloy Steels Ltd. is a leading Indian foundry and railway component manufacturer, supplying couplers, buffers, bogies, steel castings, investment castings, and metal-bonded rubber products to Indian Railways, wagon builders, and heavy engineering customers. We operate modern manufacturing facilities in Kanpur (U.P.) and Paonta Sahib (H.P.).
Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive HR Officer to handle day-to-day HR operations and administration, and support statutory compliance, employee welfare, and workplace safety practices. This role requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1) HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
Maintain employee records, personal files, and HR databases
Issue offer letters, appointment letters, and manage joining formalities
Handle onboarding and induction for new employees
Support employee engagement activities and employee query resolution
Assist with performance appraisal and related HR processes
2) Attendance, Leave & HR MIS
Track attendance, leaves, and biometric data
Prepare monthly HR MIS reports and maintain workforce records
Maintain statutory / HR registers : Muster Roll, EL, CL, NF, Adult Register
3) Payroll Coordination & Input Validation
Coordinate payroll inputs for new joiners, resignations, salary revisions, deductions
Ensure accurate calculation and validation of salary components such as :
Basic, HRA, Allowances, Bonus, Incentives, etc.
Work closely with payroll / accounts team to ensure timely and correct processing
4) Statutory Compliance & Discipline Support
Assist documentation and coordination for PF, ESI, LWF, Gratuity
Support grievance handling, discipline process, and implementation of company policies
Help ensure compliance with labour laws, Factory Act, and internal policies
5) Admin, Facilities & Vendor Coordination
Oversee office administration including housekeeping, security, maintenance
Manage travel arrangements, guest management, meeting room coordination
Maintain office assets : ID cards, access cards, SIM allocations, equipment assets
Monitor AMCs for equipment (e.g., printers, AC, CCTV)
Manage courier / logistics and document dispatch
6) Workplace Safety, Health & Welfare (Support Role)
Ensure a safe and clean working environment across the facility
Conduct regular safety audits / inspections and maintain safety documentation
Maintain incident logs, safety registers; support accident / near-miss investigations
Ensure statutory requirements for PPE, machine guarding, fire safety, emergency equipment
Coordinate medical check-ups, health camps, and welfare programs
Ensure safety induction is completed for all new joiners
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good working knowledge of HR processes + admin operations
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Understanding of PF, ESI, Gratuity, labour compliance
Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and coordinate across departments
Organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in HR / Business Administration or related field (MBA preferred)
1–3 years’ experience in HR & Administration
Manufacturing / plant HR exposure preferred
