Safety officer

A leading organisation operating in the industrial safety, construction and manufacturing sector, delivering large-scale on-site projects across India. We support high-hazard operations with structured HSE systems, regulatory compliance and practical safety engineering to protect people, assets and operations.

Role : HSE Officer (Safety Officer) — On-site, India

We are hiring an experienced, hands-on HSE Officer to own daily safety operations at project sites. The role focuses on risk reduction, compliance, incident prevention and behaviour-based safety interventions across construction and manufacturing environments.

Role & Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site HSE policies, procedures and Permit-to-Work systems to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), HIRA and routine safety audits; close non-conformances and track corrective actions to completion.
• Lead incident / near‑miss investigations, perform root-cause analysis and produce clear corrective / preventive action plans.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions and on-the-job coaching to drive observable safe behaviours and PPE compliance.
• Coordinate emergency response drills, first-aid readiness and fire-safety preparedness with contractors and site teams.
• Maintain HSE records, prepare compliance reports for management and support third-party audits and inspections.

Additional Qualifications : Diploma / degree in Safety, Industrial / Mechanical / Civil Engineering or allied field preferred. Proven hands-on experience working on-site in construction, manufacturing or heavy industry with demonstrable track record of implementing safety systems and reducing incident rates. Valid first-aid or onsite medical responder certification is an advantage.
