Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven Partnerships & Business Development professional who has strong experience in building strategic alliances, driving product adoption, and expanding market presence through ecosystem partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess deep understanding of the digital payments / FinTech
landscape, proven capability to manage partner ecosystems, and a track record of delivering GMV / Gross Margin growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire lifecycle of a partnership. Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage strategic partnerships across tech ecosystem platforms and non-tech providers, including web developers, web platforms, ISVs, ERPs, marketplaces, and other business solution enablers.
- Drive partner-led merchant acquisition and ensure seamless onboarding and activation.
- Build partnerships to unlock new product use-cases and expand addressable markets.
- Develop and execute GTM strategies to improve product penetration across key sectors (Education, E-commerce, Travel, Retail, Financial Services, etc.) and drive organizational goals for number of merchants, GMV and revenue targets through partner channels
- Closely work with product and tech teams to conceptualize and deliver new capabilities, plugins, and integrations, and lead cross-functional execution for major enterprise programs and native payment flows.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key partner stakeholders, conduct training and joint business planning, and drive continuous performance improvement to maximize revenue impact
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with CXOs and senior stakeholders across partner organizations to drive strategic alignment and executive buy-in
- Implement KPI-driven partner performance tracking systems, conduct regular business reviews, and optimize portfolio performance for margin efficiency
- Identify and execute cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing partner accounts to maximize revenue per partnership
- Design and deliver partner training programs on product developments, new integrations, and best practices to enhance partner capability and engagement
- Define and implement SOPs for partner onboarding, merchant activation, and escalation management to ensure operational excellence
- Track, analyze, and communicate key partnership metrics, market trends, and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decisions
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong experience in B2B Partnerships, Strategic Alliances, or Business Development with significant exposure to Payment Gateway.Should able to understand market gaps, drive GTM accordinglyPortfolio Management & Margin Optimization by showcasing data-driven portfolio management and profitability focusUnderstanding of fintech regulatory landscapeExperience negotiating complex commercial agreements with enterprise clients and ecosystem partnersAbility to support and enable sales teams, manage high-volume partner interactionsExposure to FinTech / Payments / SaaS integrations (Payment Gateway flows preferred).Proven success in ecosystem partnerships (ISVs, ERPs, marketplace platforms, fintech enablers).Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.Analytical mindset with capability to drive number of merchants & GMVMBA / PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management (preferred).(ref : iimjobs.com)
