POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical housings, packaging, and thermal solutions for advanced photonic interconnects. These interconnects are critical to enabling next generation data center architectures, supporting the exponential growth of cloud, AI, and high‑performance computing workloads. The role requires expertise in precision mechanical design, thermal management, and manufacturability for high‑volume deployment.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mechanical Design & Packaging
• Lead the design of housings and enclosures for integrated photonic modules and transceivers , like OSFP.
• Develop 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and tolerance stack‑ups for manufacturability and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards for photonic / electrical interconnects and interoperability.
• Cross‑disciplinary Collaboration
• Partner with optical and electrical engineers to co‑optimize designs for performance and reliability.
• Work with supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM / DFT and cost‑effective scaling.
• Engage with vendors and fabricators to validate feasibility of custom housings and interconnect solutions.
• Prototyping & Validation
• Drive prototype builds, lab testing, and qualification of photonic interconnect housings.
• Support root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement for field reliability and yield.
