An Azure Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for providing technical expertise and solution consulting during the sales process, helping organizations design and adopt Microsoft Azure-based cloud services that match business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to qualify leads, identify Azure opportunities, and support achievement of sales targets.
- Engage with customers to gather business and technical requirements, and propose Azure-based solutions aligned with their objectives.
- Design and deliver technical presentations, demos, proof-of-concept (POC) activities, and workshops for client stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed solution documentation, competitive analysis, and pricing estimates using Azure calculators.
- Respond to RFPs / RFIs, assist in proposal creation, and develop architectural diagrams and supporting materials for bids.
- Stay current with Azure offerings, industry trends, security models, and licensing structures.
- Work with internal development, delivery, and product teams to ensure solutions are technically sound and sales handover is smooth.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, and security.Experience in designing and deploying cloud solutions, and understanding cloud costing and optimization principles.5–8+ years in technical pre-sale, solution architecture, or cloud consultingExcellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills for both technical and business audiences.Azure certifications and hands-on experience with migrations, cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and technical proposal preparation are typically required.Ability to manage end-to-end presales process from customer engagement to solution design, bid responses, and technical handover.Personal Attributes
