Role Overview :
The Middle Office SME will be responsible for managing and overseeing corporate actions and reference data processes across various financial instruments.
- This role ensures accurate event processing, data integrity, and operational efficiency while acting as a bridge between front office, back office, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
Corporate Actions :
Set up and validate corporate action events (mandatory and voluntary) in portfolio management systems.Scrub and interpret data from custodians, agents, and vendors.Process client elections and instructions for voluntary events.Monitor settlement of cash and securities related to corporate actions.Liaise with portfolio managers, custodians, and agents to ensure timely and accurate execution.Reconcile discrepancies and ensure proper booking in systems.Reference Data :
Maintain and update reference data for securities, issuers, and corporate events.Ensure data accuracy across systems (e.g., Aladdin, Bloomberg, internal databases).Collaborate with data vendors and internal teams to resolve data quality issues.Support onboarding of new instruments and corporate entities.Project & Process Improvement :
Participate in automation and system enhancement initiatives.Analyze existing workflows and recommend improvements.Support UAT and system testing for new functionalities.Contribute to risk and performance reporting Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.8-10 years of experience in Middle Office, Corporate Actions, or Reference Data roles.Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives).Familiarity with systems like Aladdin, Bloomberg, SWIFT, DTC.Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of VBA or Python is a plus.Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Skills :
