Job description10+ years of total software engineering experience, including 2+ years in engineering leadership roles Strong technical background in system design, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP) Experience leading full-stack or backend-focused teams in fast-paced product environments Solid understanding of Agile processes, CI / CD, microservices, and modern DevOps Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team-building skills Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and cross-functional collaboration Experience with AI / ML-powered products or data-heavy platforms Strong architectural judgment with a history of designing and scaling high-performance systems Familiarity with compliance, security, and performance optimization best practices Work with an ambitious and innovative team in a high-growth AI startup Take ownership and drive impact at both strategic and technical levels Collaborative, transparent, and empowering work culture Competitive salary, equity options, and clear path for career growth
Role Overview :
The AVP - Engineering will lead high-performing teams, drive technical strategy, and ensure successful delivery of scalable products.
This role blends hands-on architecture thinking with leadership in execution, team growth, and stakeholder alignment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and execute the engineering roadmap in line with HELO.AIs business and product strategy
- Manage and mentor engineering teams across product verticals (backend, frontend, AI, DevOps, etc.)
- Own system design, architecture reviews, and critical technology decisions
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Business to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable features
- Establish best practices in code quality, security, testing, and deployment
- Lead the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of engineers
- Set up and improve engineering workflows for faster and safer delivery
- Monitor and manage project timelines, resource planning, and team performance metrics
