Role Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP (Finance & Operations) System Engineer with design, configuration, optimization, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) specifically for the Projects & Contracting business domain. Candidate must have proven experience in the Project Management & Accounting module, tailored to contracting and construction environments.
This role demands deep functional and technical expertise in modules related to Project Management & Accounting, Procurement & Sourcing, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Finance, and Contract Management, with the ability to bridge the gap between construction project operations and ERP automation.
The role will ensure complete automation with ERP workflows reflect real-world construction project lifecycles, integrating financial and cost control, subcontractor management, BOQ management and progress billing, and enabling end-to-end digital transformation for project execution and back-office support.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead or support the implementation, configuration, and deployment of MS Dynamics 365 F&O, focusing on Project Management & Accounting modules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document requirements specific to real estate development and contracting workflows.
- Customize, test, and deploy solutions to align with project and financial management processes.
- Integrate Dynamics 365 with other business systems and ensure data consistency.
- Provide technical and functional support post go-live, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Support user training and documentation tailored to construction and contracting operations.
ERP Configuration & Customization :
Configure, enhance, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O modules for :
Project Management & Accounting : Design Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project budgeting, cost tracking, revenue recognition, retention, variation orders.Procurement & Sourcing : Optimise Purchase requisition workflows, RFQs, vendor evaluation, subcontract agreements.Inventory & Warehouse Management : Construction material stock tracking, site consumption reporting, transfer orders.Finance & Accounting : Multi-company accounting, intercompany transactions, progress claims, advance & performance guarantees, VAT & tax compliance.Customize approval hierarchies, workflows, and security roles to align with company policies and contracting project governance.Integrate Progress Measurement Systems for project milestones linked to invoicing and revenue recognition.Integration & Automation :
Optimise integrations between D365 F&OZoho CRM for leads, opportunities, and project award handovers.Document Management Systems (SharePoint, etc.).Banking portals for payment automation.Power BI dashboards for executive reporting.Enable automation for subcontractor payments, retention release, and escalation clauses.Ensure seamless data flow between Project Control tools, site progress reporting, and ERP modules.Support & Troubleshooting :
Act as the Level 2 / 3 support for ERP incidents in the Projects & Contracting domain.Diagnose, debug, and resolve functional and technical issues.Conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurring system issues.Business Process Optimization :
Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, QS, and Project Controls teams to map and optimize workflows.Implement earned value management (EVM) concepts within ERP project reporting.Standardize BOQ cost structures, material codes, and procurement categories.Training & Documentation :
Deliver end-user training for project managers, QS teams, procurement staff, and finance controllers.Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test scripts, and user manuals.Governance & Compliance (added advantage) :
Ensure ERP workflows comply with :1. Construction contract terms (FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
2. Local regulatory requirements (e.g., VAT, WPS, DLD / TAS, Naqodi integration).
3. ISO 9001 / ISO 27001 / cyber security policies.
Maintain proper audit trails for project-related transactions.Qualifications & Skills :
Education :
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Masters in Computer Science, or related field.Microsoft Certified : Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant Associate / Solution Architect certification preferred.Experience :
Above 5 years of hands-on experience in MS Dynamics 365 F&O, specifically in Project Management & Accounting.Experience working in construction, contracting, or real estate ERP environments is mandatory.Technical Skills :
Strong understanding of end-to-end ERP lifecycle implementations.Familiarity with Finance, SCM, and Project modules in F&O.Ability to conduct gap analysis, perform system customization, and develop functional design documents.Soft Skills :
