JOB SUMMARY :
The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organizations network infrastructure. This role ensures the smooth and secure operation of all networking systems, providing support for local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and network segments.
The Network Administrator is also responsible for troubleshooting network issues, managing network security, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of network resources.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage (install, configure, monitor, and maintain) all network hardware and software.
- Ensure network availability and reliability by configuring network routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
- Proactively monitor network performance to prevent bottlenecks, identify issues, and troubleshoot network-related problems.
- Optimize and improve the network infrastructure to ensure high performance and availability.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, such as firewalls, encryption, and VPNs, to safeguard the organizations network and data.
- Act as the SPOC for network-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving user problems.
- Manage the network inventory, tracking hardware and software assets to ensure proper documentation.
- Provide support for remote access solutions, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for remote users.
- Lead network upgrades and projects, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ensure network compliance with industry standards, laws, and regulations.
- Develop and implement network disaster recovery plans and backup procedures, ensuring minimal downtime in case of failure.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand network needs and implement suitable solutions.
- Constantly explore new networking technologies and best practices, making recommendations for future network improvements.
