The MEP Cost & Estimation Manager is responsible for preparing, managing, and monitoring the cost estimates, budgets, and financial evaluations of all MEP works (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, ELV systems) for interior fit-out projects. This role ensures cost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with client requirements while supporting the tendering and procurement process.
Key Responsibilities :
Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and budgets for all MEP systems in interior fit-out projects.
- Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from drawings, tender documents, and specifications.
- Update and maintain a cost database for materials, labor, and subcontractor rates.
- Provide value engineering solutions to optimize cost without compromising quality or compliance.
Tendering & Bidding
Review tender documents and identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities.Prepare competitive technical and commercial proposals for submission.Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for quotations, negotiations, and technical clarifications.Ensure all bids are prepared within deadlines and in compliance with project specifications.Cost Management & Control
Track project budgets against actual costs and highlight variances.Support procurement in negotiations with suppliers / subcontractors to achieve cost savings.Provide cost reports, analysis, and recommendations to senior management.Maintain historical cost data for future project references.Team & Coordination
Collaborate with design, project, and procurement teams to align cost estimates with execution plans.Engage with consultants, clients, and contractors to resolve commercial and technical queries.Lead and mentor junior estimation engineers within the MEP estimation team.
