Business Unit Head / Country Head (Manufacturing)
Responsible for the profitability and performance of a manufacturing unit by setting strategic goals, overseeing operations, managing the P&L, and leading the team to achieve production targets. Key duties include driving continuous improvement, ensuring safety and quality standards, fostering a positive work culture, and identifying growth opportunities to align the unit with the overall company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership :
v Develop and implement business strategies to meet the unit's objectives, including sales, revenue, and market share targets, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Financial Management :
v Take full ownership of the Profit & Loss (P&L), managing the unit's budget, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring profitability.
P&L Management :
v Own divisional profitability with focus on ROCE improvement and comprehensive financial performance
v Operational Excellence : Optimize manufacturing processes, implement cost management strategies, and drive operational efficiencies
Strategic Business Development :
v Lead market penetration strategies, explore partnership opportunities, and drive competitive positioning
Revenue Leadership :
v Drive sales growth by strengthening supplier relationships, developing new markets, and expanding customer segments
Team Leadership & Development :
v Lead, motivate, and mentor the team, including supervisors and staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment and supporting professional development.
Quality & Safety :
v Implement and enforce quality control procedures and safety protocols to ensure products meet company and industry standards and create a safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement :
v Identify areas for process optimization, reduce waste, and lead initiatives like Lean Manufacturing to enhance operational efficiency.
Board Engagement :
v Present monthly performance insights and develop long-term strategic plans aligned with organizational vision
Qualification And Experience :
1. BE from IIT or NIT and MBA with Extensive experience of 24 - 28 years in manufacturing and deep understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, and relevant technologies.
2. Proficiency in financial management, including P&L responsibility and budget management. Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost control.
3. The incumbent should have a commercial orientation with the ability to run a profit centre independently.
4. A deep understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies .
5. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, drive change, and achieve results.
6. Should have managed large teams and have prior experience in growing the scale of operations and enlarging the team size.
7. The candidate should have very good people management, communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with and influence a matrix of internal and external customers at varied levels.
8. The individual must be a self-starter with a strong element of dynamism and the ability to move fast and get things done. He / she should have the stature and the maturity that commands the respect of his peers.
9. Ability to think out of the box - strategic thinking (Larger picture).
10. Very high focus on implementation essential for process delivery as per SLAs / SOWs.
11. Ability to interact and manage multiple customers.
12. Analytical and numerical ability - data driven, and ability to work independently.
13. Ability to create and present dashboards.
14. Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant software.
15. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills..
